By India Today Web Desk: Are you still using WhatsApp? There are ways to circumvent this restriction on a tablet and a personal computer. Whatsapp Web synchronises with the smartphone app to enable the sending and receiving of WhatsApp messages from a computer. Any action you perform on your mobile device will be replicated on your PC and vice versa. WhatsApp is accessible on both mobile devices and computers.
There are two ways to utilise WhatsApp on your computer:
WhatsApp Desktop: A downloadable application.
WhatsApp Web: A WhatsApp browser-based version.
Here's how to use a web browser to view WhatsApp:
Launch your computer's, laptop's, or tablet's web browser and navigate to web.whatsapp.com.
Open WhatsApp on an Android device, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner, and select WhatsApp web.
On an iPhone, launch WhatsApp, press the bottom-left settings button, and select WhatsApp web/desktop.
You will be instructed to use the camera on your smartphone to scan the QR code displayed on your computer's web browser.
Then, point the camera of your smartphone at the computer screen to scan the code.
Whatsapp web will launch immediately in your browser and remain active until you log out from your computer or phone.
You can select this option by returning to the WhatsApp Web menu on your phone and selecting to log out from all devices.
You can log out of your PC by tapping the icon with three dots at the top of the conversation thread and selecting Log out.
Here are the steps for installing WhatsApp web on a computer:
Install the WhatsApp online desktop programme, accessible at whatsapp.com/download for PC and Mac.
Simply click the green download button to install WhatsApp on your PC.
Then double-click the file in your downloads folder to install it.
On a Windows machine, follow the instructions in the installer; on a Mac, drag the WhatsApp icon to the Applications folder.
Start the WhatsApp desktop application, and the steps are identical to those outlined previously.
You will remain logged into WhatsApp until you manually log out.
Note: WhatsApp can only be installed on computers running Windows 8 (or a later version) or Mac OSX 10.9. (or newer).
